Ricky Short is the owner of Vaima Beachfront Apartments. Ricky grew up in the Cook Islands in the district of Titikaveka (of which Vaimaanga is part). While he currently lives overseas with his wife and children, his heart remains in the Cook Islands. 

Due to the unique land laws in the Cook Islands, where rights to property may only pass down to family members, Vaimaanga is filled with Ricky's family members' homes: including his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. His uncle, John Short, as owner of one the largest and most reputable construction companies in the Cook Islands, built Vaima Beachfront Apartments (with project support from Ricky's parents - and Vaima Beachfront Apartments' next-door-neighbours - Tui and Cecilia); John's wife, Nooroa, is the Property Manager, and Ricky's cousin, Nadine, worked on the beautiful coastal-themed interiors. So Vaima Beachfront Apartments are very much a family affair. 

Ricky built Vaima Beachfront Apartments primarily as holiday homes for his children, so they will always have a draw to their important Polynesian roots. He is delighted, however, to share the joys of Rarotonga with visitors from all over the world and to welcome guests into the apartments all year round.
